Franciacorta Satèn is one of the most refined and distinctive expressions of the entire Lombardy appellation, a unique interpretation in the panorama of Italian and international sparkling wines. This type, whose name explicitly refers to the silkiness of its character, is regulated by specific rules that define its unmistakable identity. Produced exclusively from white grapes—mainly Chardonnay, sometimes with small percentages of Pinot Bianco—Satèn stands out first and foremost for its significantly lower bottle pressure, no more than 5 atmospheres instead of the traditional 6.

A sensory profile of extraordinary elegance

The sensory experience of Franciacorta Satèn is characterized by a pleasant immediacy that conceals a sophisticated complexity. Visually, it has a bright straw yellow color with greenish reflections in younger products, which evolves towards golden tones with aging. The perlage, a truly distinctive feature, is very fine and less aggressive, with bubbles of extraordinary finesse that form a creamy and persistent foam. On the nose, the bouquet opens with elegant floral and fruity notes, then evolves towards nuances of bread crust, vanilla, and hazelnut in Satèn wines with greater aging.

Pairings and protagonists of excellence

Satèn excels with delicate fish appetizers, shellfish, creamy risottos, and fish main courses that are not too structured, ideally served between 8 and 10°C in large tulip glasses. Among the producers who have defined its style are the refined interpretations of Ca' del Bosco with its “Vintage Collection Satèn,” the elegance of Bellavista, the territorial precision of Barone Pizzini, and the complexity of Contadi Castaldi's Satèn.
